What is the Microsoft Program Guide?
The Microsoft Program Guide is a service providing essential features for your digital video recorder (LG LRM-519). With the Guide service, the following features are available:
- Up to two weeks of guide listings
- Easily record your favorite TV shows or record the entire series
- Get detailed information about your favorite programs at the touch of a button
- Search for TV shows and movies by using a keyword, title, or category
- Set parental controls based on TV ratings, channel, and movie ratings

How do I get the Microsoft Program Guide service?
The Microsoft Program Guide is free with the purchase of the LG LRM-519. To receive your subscription you simply connect your recorder to the Microsoft Program Guide service using a broadband or dial-up connection.
Do I need Internet Service to use my Microsoft Program Guide service?
An Internet Service Provider is not required to download TV listings and use the Microsoft Program Guide service. The LG LRM-519 can connect to the Guide service using a standard phone line and dial-up connection.
If you have an Internet Service Provider, you have the option to download the Microsoft Program Guide using your wired or wireless broadband connection.
What types of subscriptions are available?
We now include a free One-Time Subscription for LG LRM-519 customers.
What is a "One-Time" Subscription?
A One-Time Subscription is allows the Microsoft Program Guide to remain active for the operational life of your LG LRM-519.
Isn’t there a $100.00 rebate?
Since a One-Time Subscription is now included with your LG LRM-519 – at no additional cost – we are no longer offering a $100.00 rebate.
How do I know if I have subscribed to the Microsoft Program Guide service?
To determine if you have a subscription, go to the Recorder and press the Green Button
on the remote. On the Start menu, select Settings > System Information > Subscription Info
After I get the Microsoft Program Guide, why does it initially take a long time to download the listings?
The first time the LG LRM-519 connects to the Microsoft Program Guide service, the Recorder checks for any software updates that may be available for your Recorder before downloading your Guide listings. Software updates are downloaded first. After the software update is installed, your Guide listings are downloaded. If you are using a dial-up connection, this process (software update and Guide listing download) can take up to three hours to complete. Downloads over broadband connections are significantly faster than a dial-up connection.
When I setup my LG LRM-519, why do my TV listings read "no information?"
When you first setup the LG LRM-519, you must provide the Recorder with the type of TV service you have (such as cable or satellite), your location, and other information that is used by the Microsoft Program Guide to complete downloads. With this information, the Guide service can provide the correct Guide listings for your location. After you complete the setup wizard, the Recorder can download the Guide listings.
Why are my Guide listings gone?
There are several possible reasons why this may occur:
The Program Guide could still be downloading. The download may take 20 minutes or longer depending on your network connection (broadband vs. dial-up) and network traffic. You can check the status of the download by pressing the Green Button
on the remote. Then select Settings > Guide Setup > Get Latest Guide Listings.
Your LG LRM-519 may be downloading a software update and the Program Guide. Over a dial-up connection, this may take up to three hours.
The Recorder could not download the Guide because of network issues. Make sure the Recorder is connected to the network via broadband or phone line. Next, download the Guide listings again by selecting the Green Button
on the remote. Then select Settings > Guide Setup > Get Latest Guide Listings.
